2. When this policy applies

This policy applies when you visit this website, contact Marianne about speaking, workshops or advisory services, book a service through a linked provider, or otherwise communicate about her independent professional work.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and balance those interests against your rights. You may object as described below. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Where the data comes from

Most data will come directly from you, your organisation or someone acting for it. If you book through a third-party booking provider, that provider may give us the details needed to confirm and deliver the service. We may also receive professional contact details from a colleague who introduces you, in which case we will use them only for the relevant introduction.

6. Who may receive the data?

We may share only the data reasonably needed with:

  • Website hosting and technical providers: providers used to deliver, maintain and secure this website.
  • FormSubmit: the enquiry-form processor used to receive form submissions and forward them to our email inbox. FormSubmit states that submissions are retained for 30 days. Its privacy information (opens in a new tab)↗ also applies to that processing.
  • Email and productivity providers: providers used to receive, organise and respond to professional enquiries.
  • Booking or payment providers: only if one is introduced for a service you choose to book; its own privacy policy will also apply.
  • Professional advisers: accountants, legal advisers and insurers where necessary.
  • Authorities or other recipients: where disclosure is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

This website also links to LinkedIn, media publications and other external websites. If you follow one of those links, the external operator may collect data under its own privacy policy; we do not control its processing.

We do not sell personal data. We review providers before use and share only the information reasonably needed for the relevant service.

7. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside Finland or the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we require an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any necessary safeguards.

8. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements.

9. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • request access to and a copy of your personal data;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to erase data;
  • ask us to restrict processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
  • receive data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where portability applies; and
  • withdraw consent at any time.

These rights are not absolute and exceptions may apply. To make a request, contact hello@mariannech.com. We may need to verify your identity. We aim to respond without undue delay and normally within one month.

10. Complaints

Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where the issue occurred. In Finland, the relevant authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (opens in a new tab)↗.

11. Security, automated decisions and children

We use proportionate organisational and technical safeguards and require relevant providers to protect personal data. No decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means. The services are intended for professional and organisational audiences and are not directed at children.

We may update this policy when the website, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top will show the latest version. Questions and privacy requests should be sent to hello@mariannech.com.
